Our Story

Sunset Software is built by a brother-sister team out of Cincinnati, Ohio — and the funeral industry has been part of our DNA for over 18 years.

We're not a large corporation. We're a family-owned company that takes pride in the work we do and the people we do it for. When you reach out, you're in good hands.

Erin, a professional graphic designer since 2008 and a graduate of the Art Institute of Cincinnati, moved into the funeral industry in 2010 designing memorialization products for grieving families. Jacob brings over a decade of enterprise software development experience, with an MFA in Themed Entertainment Design and deep expertise in building systems that are both powerful and genuinely easy to use. Together, they co-founded Coldest River Software and have spent years building niche software that solves real problems for specialized industries — alongside a small, dedicated team that shares their commitment to quality and care. Sunset Software is the product of everything they've learned along the way.
